“Crazy” energy healing clip, defended by Derek Hough

DANCING with the STARS’ Derek Hough defended an energy healing demonstration, on video, of his sister Julianne that went viral.
The striking video of Julianne Hough attending the demonstration at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland) was shared on podcaster Jackie Schimmel Haas’ Instagram.

“I’m going to tell my kids this is ‘The Exorcist’,” Haas captioned the video of Julianne screaming and turning her body as a “somatic energy practitioner” on a table. John Amaral moved his hands over her.
Her brother went to the comment section to defend the practice.
“This stuff looks crazy (sic) and insane, but it’s a pretty wild experience to dive into with an understanding of pure energy,” he wrote. “Maybe ahead of its time, but it’s worth being open-minded.”
Julianne also commented on the clip: “I thought the same thing when I saw it for the first time!”
ENERGY HEALING Is Nothing To Be Afraid Of
Julianne has posted photos from the forum, including one of hers and Amaral.
“I have the best time to share my journey and discuss the power of movement with these inspiring, brilliant and innovative souls,” she wrote a series of photos.
Haas, whose mail received more than 218,000 views, wasn’t the only one to say the demonstration looked bizarre.
Twitter user @treytylor shared a similar clip with the caption: “I thought I saw it all until I saw Julianne being cast out.”
His video received more than 622,000 views.
Amaral is part of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Documentation “The Goop Lab” (Streaming on Netflix) doing a similar exercise on Paltrow and her colleagues. Hough is part of the episode.
Amaral’s website states that it could “help people increase their energy, expand their awareness and improve their performance so that they can experience overwhelming levels of clarity and freedom”.
Amaral admits his sessions can look strange.
What exactly is he doing? “When I move my hands in the air and snap my fingers and make noises with my hands, I’m putting energy into the field around a person’s body and just changing their energy system by how I deal with it.”
In the series, Paltrow explores psychedelic psychotherapy, female pleasure, aging and mediumship.
