Rwandan essential oils: A booming export trade

Traditionally, the hills of eastern Rwanda were a place for growing coffee, sweet potatoes, sugar cane and bananas. But in recent years they’ve been home to patchouli, eucalyptus and geranium plants as well, to be harvested for oil and herbal use. These have proven lucrative for farmers, praise God! Many are now getting the first regular incomes in their lives.
